Thanks for checking out my 1968 Beaumont SD396. For those not fimilar with these cars, they are basically the Canadian version of the Chevelle with GTO instrument panels. Bodies were built by General Motors of Canada with a Chevy drivetrain. Since there were no GM of Canada dealerships they were sold through the Pontiac dealerships. They are considered Pontiacs but nowhere in the original owners manuals or brochures does it mention Pontiac. These cars are much rarer than their Chevelle counterparts. There were only 702 68 Beaumont SD hardtops built. They all came with a 396 with 325 or 350 horsepower. My car now has a 427. The car, for the most part, has been restored to original condition with exception of the engine, wheels and addition of a posi-traction rearend.
