These are the ealiest pictures I have of this project. The body started in very fair condition with minimal rust. It was decided to strip the entire vehicle before performing the extensive amount of finishing needed.

Here is the final coat of primer before color is to be applied.

This is first glimpse of the car fully assembled with the custom Bobby Fender interior.

Lowering blocks were added to rear leaf springs and custom shortened Eaton springs to the front to create the perfect stance. The car was dropped a total 6 inches in front and near 8 inches in rear.

The original 260 cubic inch V-8 was decided to remain under the hood but not without adding many fine polished performance updates.

The two barrel intake was replaced with a four barrel Edelbrock 600 cfm. A high flow polished water pump was added as well as a conversion from the mechanical fuel pump to electric. A Comp Cam with solid lifters was stuffed into the block with Pete Jackson timing gear components spinning it round. The steel radiator just recently cracked and after debating between going aluminum decided to simply recore.

Hey nice meteor. I have a 63 too. Is that the factory scotch green? Mine is scotch green, but its the original paint. It would be cool if yours was too so I could see what it originally looked like.

that is truly one beautiful meteor there. there are not many around now days and to see one all fixed up is really a sweet deal. i love the color you chose to paint it. either way keep the MERCURY flame alive as there are not many MERCURYS appreciated

Hi, Great Ride! I've got a 63 Meteor myself I'm close to finishing. My problem is that I'm going literally in circles getting the right wheels. The problem is that I can't find rims with the look I want and the right offset. When I saw your car my first thougth was, "that's it". So, my question is what are the rims, size, model, etc. I know they're American Racing but I've been told by my local wheel guy American Racing doesn't make a rim to fit the Merc...help!! Thank you!!

You have a great looking car. Are you looking to sell it? If not, it appears that someone else is. Here is the sales ad link... http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/136817166.html
Check it out. You may want to contact the webmaster about it if the ad is not yours.
