PARTS AND MODIFICATIONS
______________________________________________________________________________

Here I'll show you some of my modifications and parts that I have done on my car.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon Here is my FMIC just after install. At this point my front plate wasn't even installed yet never mind my NX Ntercooler chiller. Weird looking the front end without those pieces, kinda plain.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon Here is a shot of my turbo. Turbonetics T3/T4 50Trim .63 A/R exhaust with Stage 3 exhaust wheel. This is the pump gas king on any DSM. If you wanna fly on pump gas this is your turbo. I run 22psi for daily driving and will run 26psi on race gas for racing next year. My car street trim on 22psi is when I made 357whp and went 12.59 so you can guess what 26psi on race gas with my new sheet metal intake manifold is gonna do.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon Here is the NX Ntercooler being mounted and installed. Think your FMIC is cold? try a shot of this and tell me afterwards when there is ice hanging from your intercooler. No joke, it literally froze the cooler. :D

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon This is my turbo exhaust housing. I ported it out by hand and had it ceramic coated for durability, heat retention and good looks. I ported out the exhaust path for better and smoother flow through the turbocharger.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon Here is my exhaust manifold. I ported the runners the same as I did my turbo housing. The original casting on the manifold is not that great so that's why the holes are not very centered or perfectly oval. They cover the exhaust holes on the head well and flows nicely. Below are before and after pics other porting I did on the collector

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon
Here is before and after on the collector. This is where most of the work was performed. The collector was way too small and did not open enough for the turbocharger. I opened the hole a lot and straightened out the path for the exhaust as it travels through the manifold. I then polished it for maximum flow. Unlike an intake the exhaust can be as smooth as you want.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon This is another shot of my Turbocharger prior to install and the exhaust housing work.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon This is my whole assembly put together for trial fitting. Thats everything after porting and ceramic coating. Very shiny...

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon This is my 3" down pipe that I fabricated myself. Yes I'm not a great welder so please don't tell me that. I did make this myself and am happy with the results. I opted to route my wastegate back in. I am going to cut it and flange it and make another pipe so I can switch between routing it back in and having it blow to the atmosphere. Nice and quite for regular cruising and crazy loud when the wastegate opens.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon Here is my fuel rail. I drilled and tapped it 3/8th and screwed in a 3/8ths 90deg street elbow with a 5/16ths barbed fitting for fuel line.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon You can see the fuel line from my rail going to a T for a 0-100psi fuel pressure gauge then to my SARD adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This is a must on cars with large fuel pumps as I have a Walbro 255lph fuel pump it would over run my stock fuel pressure regulator so this was my solution. Works like a charm didn't break the bank.

DSMJim's 1998 Eagle Talon As requested by somebody these are my rims. 17" Konig Theory in Graphite with Bridgestone Potenza S0-3 Pole Position Tires. The rims are 22lbs each (kinda heavy). One thing I have learned is that good tires make a really huge difference. These tires are so much better than my Falkens or Yoko that I had it's just incredible. They are also much more expensive but until you have a top of the line tire you will not understand what I'm talking about.
