I am selling my 1986 Mustang GT. I purchased it four years ago. The previous owner invested $15K into body work & drive train improvements. He successfully entered it into various car shows in NY. The car needed nothing when I bought it but I wasn’t satisfied. I felt with some additional performance enhancements to match its looks it would be perfect, so I spent around $10K over the last few years to realize my goals for the car.
My goal was to turn it into a magazine-worthy super car. The performance upgrades started with an intercooled D1SC ATI Procharger installed tuned by LaRocca’s in Old Bridge NJ. LaRocca’s are the premiere Mustang tuning experts on the East Coast. Jimmy C dialed the car in perfectly. It purrs smoothly at idle but it’s absolutely lethal when you get on it. The car has been dyno-tested at 503 hp & 457 ft-lbs of torque. I then installed a Bear big brake kit & 5 lug upgrade. Next was a full suite of gauges. My last round of upgrades was focused on the suspension.
The car is by far the most powerful car I have ever driven. The acceleration is reminiscent of my old GSXR 1100. It’s not just a straight line car; it actually handles the twisty CT back roads with ease. The car has immense stopping power as well. From a visual & performance perspective it’s exactly what I’ve always wanted.

Since I bought the car back in ’01 I have only put 2,600 miles on it or about 650 miles per year. The car is always inside it doesn’t see winter or rain. It just sits in my heated garage under a California Custom car cover (also included). There is no rust or door dings. The paint is shiny and near perfect. This is honestly one of the hottest four eyed stangs left on the road.
As it stands today the car is about 95% complete. All it needs to be considered done is to install the audio equipment which I am providing, heater core (currently bypassed), some miscellaneous weather strip, and some minor interior work. I originally thought I would keep it forever but I now have 2 very young kids and I am very busy professionally. I just don’t have the time to work on or enjoy the car anymore. My loss is your gain.
I have most of the receipts for the work done by the previous owner and all of the receipts for the work I did in a folder about 3” thick. I also have a log of all the maintenance I have performed since I bought the car. I will throw in the aforementioned stereo equipment at no additional charge (Alpine CD head unit, 2 JL 10” subs, Alpine EQ, Alpine CD changer, & 2 Alpine amps) & the California Custom car cover. I also will include framed dyno results, some stock parts, many photographs, car show trophy, and various Mustang related literature.
The car is currently under a collector’s car policy with an agreed value of $20K. It’s located in Fairfield County, CT. I will go out of my way to answer any questions and entertain serious potential buyers (no joy rides). The price is $10K firm which is reasonable for a car of this vintage & caliber. Please no trade offers.
Thanks for your time,
best,
alex
