junkyGT's 1986 Ford Mustang

This is the big brake system I'm working on. It uses Wilwood forged billet superlite calipers and Corvette c5 rotors, with a bracket I made at work out of 6061 t-6 aluminum. I chose this over a Cobra setup because I got the calipers for free and the vette rotors are quite a bit thicker. I would like to race this car and I don't want brake fade to be an issue! I also have Wilwood Superlites on the rear with stock '03 Cobra rotors.junkyGT's 1986 Ford MustangjunkyGT's 1986 Ford Mustang I know I have the wrong side caliper on there, it's just a mock up pic.

For my "street" wheels I'm using Sport Max 962's, silver w/polished lip. I wanted a "staggered" look so I got 17x7 on the front and 9's for the rear. For the track I have aset of OZ Monte Carlos, 17x8&9's

I was going to use an 86 gt as my project car, but I also have an 86 4cyl coupe and I have decided to use it instead. It's in way better shape. Here's a pic of the 03 Cobra IRS installed:

junkyGT's 1986 Ford Mustang Turbo hotside mockup w/ a dummy engine. It's all coming back out so I can paint the engine bay. Rewiring for EFI v-8 since it was a 4 banger.

Oh man, that thing is going to be sweet. I love the gauges and stuff. Hurry up and swap that motor, then more pics. Good luck.
