Modifications on my 323
Here is a list of mods my dad did to the car when we first got it:
1. LX Sedan underhood insulation panel
2. LX Sedan left & right under-dash panels
3. LX Sedan tilt seat
4. LX Sedan tilt steering columb
5. LX Sedan dome light w/map lights
6. LX Sedan center console
7. LX Sedan combo switch for intermediate wipers
8. LX Sedan door & ignition key illumination
9. LX alloy wheels
10. Tracer hatch light
11. Tracer dual horns
12. Day/night mirror
13. Clock
14. Radio w/cassette
15. Accessory armrest/cassette holder(which broke and was removed)
16. Visor w/mirror
17. Added rear spring seat insulators(there was a problem with 323's with the rear springs rubbing metal to metal against the strut causing a hissing sound when driving, so this option stops that)

Some things I've done to the car(don't expect to see much here):
1. 2nd gen RX-7 Enkei/Mazda spare tire.
2. Zoom - Zoom license plate frame(Thanks to Mazda for sending me a set a couple of years ago!)(only on the back, I didn't put one on the front because it would get broken and crap)
3. Chromish valve stem caps(hey, they match the crome on the car, and they look more like the polished alloy wheels).
4. Chrome Mazda emblem on the back(from '88-'92 626/MX-6)(had to break the pins off of it and use double stick tape, but it looks nice).
5. New grill emblem(found a nice one)
6. 323 LX gauge cluster with tachometer.
7. 1979 RX-7 4 metal spoke steering wheel.

Some things I want to add:
1. Hatch door with wiper(it's so bad to be in a downpour and not beable to see out the back window, which is what currently happens)
2. Adjustable suspension(wishing)
3. Manuel transmission :p

Hey!!! How are you. I just posted my 1988 Red Mazda 323 on this site as well. I will be taking better pics shortly. Pics are a bit dark. I am still working on the interior. Just have the drivers side seat to work on getting reupholstered. I love your car. I also have aq 1989 mercury tracer. The interior is so much nicer than teh Mazda 323 interior. I piced up the tracer 2 months ago and it only has 22,576 miles on it. That is original miles. Please check out my vehicle "sexyrosita" on here. I would love to hear you comments. Our vehicles are twins....right down to the wheels and color. I will be posting pics of my tracer shortly. Harris

Hello Ryan,

Damned nice mods Sir!

I have an SE as you know that has not been valued as much by the previous owner as your family owned 323 has, however its still my treasure. I will getto mine just a bit, and use it for my kayaking and back country camping coming up.

It's a great little car.

Thanks for your inspirational post of a great car!

ryan, I love the site man! Your car is definitely sweet. I used to have an '88 323 sedan and I always loved how much fun they were to throw around. Now I have an '88 323 GTX which is also lots of fun to throw around, but now I have to be more careful because I actually care about not crashing it. My old 323 was so much fun because I could care less if I broke something/crashed/totalled it. LOL Anyways, keep up the good work with your car man!
