This is my new SE7 Discovery. It is not modified like most on here, but I really like it the way it is so I have no plans for changing the exterior. I am the only person in my town that has a 2003 Discovery. It is nice to have a unique vehicle and it really gets a lot attention. Often when I fill up for gas people ask me a lot of questions about it.

This Discovery is loaded with about every option available. It has the 320 Watt Harmon Kardon 12 Speaker Sound System with the GPS Navigation System and a 6 disc CD Changer mounted under the seat. It has the cold weather package with heated seats and windshield. (That was worth every penny)The extra 2 seats in the back are very handy to have as well, but a little small for adults. My kids love to sit back there.

The Harmon Kardon sound system is great! It is the best OEM sound system I have heard yet, but as with all OEM sound systems they always leave you wanting more. It has awesome midbass from all if the 7" Woofers and the system will play impressively loud and clean. The only area that it lacks is in the bottom end of the sound spectrum. I had to add a real subwoofer but I didn't want to clutter it up with a bunch of amps and wires so I got creative.

Since I only wanted more sub bass I needed only one amp. I decided to buy a Blaupunkt PA2100 Amplifier. This amp was the smallest amp I could find with the most power. This amp is about the size of a in dash CD player after taking the plastic housing off of it and it pushes out over 300Watts RMS. Plus it only cost 100 bucks brand new in the box on eBay. This thing used to be $300 at Crutchfields last year. There is quite a bit of room in the rear panel behind the tail lights. I added foam padding to protect the amp and it is close to the vent so it stays cool. I has a remote bass gain so I never have to access the amp back here, but if I have to, it is easy to get to. In order to get a signal to the amp I used a Line Output Converter. Don't go cheap here! Buy the best Line output converter you can otherwise it won't sound good. I bought the best Line Output converter money can buy. It is a Soundgate LOC4 converter and it is fully compatible with the HK OEM sound system. It cost about $50 but it was well worth it.

For Bass I decided to go with Alpines best subwoofer, thier SW-R series. I was very impressed with their ability to play very loud and very deep for a 10 Inch subwoofer in a small sealed enclosure. Not only does it give a good kick in the nads, but it sounds great too. I used to be a die hard JL Audio fan, but I just didnt want to drop that much cash and as it turned out this sub sounds and performs every bit as good as a JL 10W6 and I only had to pay $100 bucks brand new on eBay for the Alpine. I can take the subwoofer in and out easily when I travel to make more room. The addition of this subwoofer really made a huge improvement. It sounds like I have a full blown custom sound system and I was able to retain the stock head unit.
