PIGMA
Well it seems my sigma is gone....Not really!!
She's getting a ground up restoration.
As you heard I smashed her, i bent up the back left quarter and tail light area which also took out the bumper as well, she had a slight crease in the boot floor also.
Damage to the front was hectic, bonnet, front bar, that nice original crome strip on the bonnet, both front gaurds and stone tray, slight bend in the lower radiator support.
Thanks to the lady that ran into me at a roundabout, she clipped my tail and spun me through a wooden fence AHHHHHH.

Here she is nearly finished, minus a motor at the moment.

New pitman arm, idler arm, inner and outer tie rod ends, new ball joints, new suspension bushing.

New sway bar.

New gas strut inserts, new rear shocks.

New uni joints on tail shaft.

New carpet.

Interior yet to be finalised but wil be re upholstered.

All suspension parts sand blasted and 2 pack painted

New custom made brake lines.

New front discs and wheel bearings.

Reco Brake cylinders.

Turbo manifold and crossover pipe.

Turbo T25 Garrett, I know the T is for Too small but this turbo will run up to 20lb boost(not that you would use that much) however with the right mods i can boost the 2ltr power to over 120kw not bad considering a standard siggy 2ltr has about 60kw.
The race nuts at Rampage Street Shop have done the maths and provide a detailed plan of what to do to the motor to gain this amount of power at 10psi boost pressure, compression ratio is critcal and a little wild machining of the piston tops are a couple of key ingredients.
Because this turbo is slightly smaller than the original and the vane technology exceeds the 1981 T03 Turbo i am assured bigger is not always better. Being smaller assures a quicker spool up for one thing.

The list goes on and I will update regularly.

I am doing this car the old school look 1981, no fancy 19" rims or way out wings and spoilers, its going to suit the era it was designed for, chrome and all, laugh if you will but wait til its finished and then tell me if its crap or not.

Check out the pics and let me know what you think so far.

REBUILDING THE PIGMA

Before we start the rust had to go! So I cut it out and welded in a good section from another car and presto!! rust gone for good.

Ok Here are the seats being recovered. I done this myself in my dining room and i have to say that this was one of the hardest things ive ever attempted. It can be done at home however before you attempt this, think it through because measurements are critical and you need at least a light industrial machine that will sew throught several layers of fabric.
I covered all the seats for just over $200.00 and I reckon they came out choice but it took me four weeks to do it.
So if you want to save a buck have a go yourself, take your time and use your head and plan the operation. I unstitched the old coverings and used them as templates where I could, i also searched the net for (How To upholster) web sites and used the tips from them. Good Luck and have a look!!!!
