After 4 long months, work on the El Camino has resumed.

LATEST UPDATE6/22/04

I bought the El Camino (11/8/03) for $500 and completely stripped it that day. These are the first pics of it. I will pretty much be makin this a site of the entire restoration so it will be updated frequently. I plan to get some dubz, put it on airbags and shave the handles, add a remote-controlled topper, plus get some fins for the rear if i can find some. Eventually I will be converting this into and SS with the new motor, logos, and stripe kits but for now im gonna make it a normal 68 It gonna be a sweet ride when I'm done with it. Be sure to check out page 3 to see all of the cool mobile electronics that are gonna go inside when i get to the interior. When I get done with everything i'll post a page showin everything i've done and/or things i've added to the ride. BY THE WAY I know i've got quite a few vehicles on here but i felt it would be a waste to make a site for each one so i just added them to my site. Make sure to visit all of the pages I hope you like em all. Don't forget to sign the G-Book and rate me. Thanks

(12/22/03) Work has finally began.I am currently sanding down the entire body piece by piece and getting all of the rust out. I will be getting the original primer off of the moldings and bumpers also so I can check it for dings and dents just like the body.I took off the front panels and am sanding them down to bare metal. Unfortunatley the guy who had this thing before me was stupid and did a halfass bondo job so it's taking a little extra elbow grease.

Fixed up grille and painted it black.

I sanded down the front fenders and i put the first coat of primer on them. I will be resanding them down with fine grit paper for that smooth as a babies ass look and reprimering them. Then i'll wait to finish the entire body and then i'll get the whole thing painted.

I finished sanding down the hood. I fixed the dents and put a coat of red primer on it. I moved the hood scoop back 3.5 inches. It still is going to be fine-sanded and reprimered before the paint job.

These are the doors when I first sanded them down.

These are ready to be fine sanded and reprimered for the last time.

Got done with the left rear fender. CAN'T BELIEVE THIS CRAP! There are bad bondo jobs all over this thing. I decided to go ahead and add some fins to each side to make this thing one-of-a-kind. It's still gonna be fine-sanded along with the rest of the body, and reprimered. The right rear was just knocked around a little with a conehead hammer. Please Excuse the topper but that is my only way to keep out the weather

It's really hard to tell unless you see it in person but the guy who previously had this really did a bad job. There are huge holes all over this thing that weren't visible at time of purchase. But I'll just do my best to fill them in with new GM REPO metal and fiberglass.

Finished the fin project. Also completed the tailgate. It's all ready to be fine-sanded and reprimered before painting.
