Buick has always been a luxury car and numerous Buicks have been powerful as well. In the late ’80 Buick set out to produce a car that combined the sportieness of a two-seater with the practicality and luxury Buick has become known for. The result was like nothing Buick had ever done before. It was the Reatta.

Reattas were handcrafted in a limited production manor. The total number of Reattas produced in all the years they were made was just 21,751. By the end of 2003 over 1,300,000 Chevy Corvettes had rolled off the assembly line. The rarity and beauty of this car were major factors in my choice of buying it. Mine has only 80,000 original miles. Abnormally low mileage is not uncommon for Reattas because of the more affluent crowd they appealed to. I have not kept mine stock and plan on deviating even more from the original than my Reatta currently is. I love the car and what captures the American spirit better than taking something great and making it even better.

The car is Unique not only because of limited production but it was also far ahead of its time when it was produced as well. It came with a limited number of options, this is because almost everything you could want was standard. V6 power, leather, power windows, power mirrors, power seats, power locks, ABS, cruise, tilt. . . All of it and more, standard equipment. For fhe first two years of its four year production it came equiped with an ECC. ECC stands for Electronic Control Center. This was a touch screen in the dash that controlled everything from engine readouts and diagnostics to clock and radio with just a tap of a fingertip.
