I just love this picture.
The begining
I found her on Thesamba.com in May of 2003. After selling my 76 Westy in April for a more "practical" car, I wound up miserable. I missed it so much I had to get another one. A week after I bought her I found out her engine needed a complete overhaul because some dimwit put the cam in wrong. If your considering buying a car with a funny idle, be carful! The guy told me it just needed a timing. It was still worth it though. Looking back, I still would have bought her.

Interior shots
As part of a mild restoration, all the seats were redone with custome fabric from TMI. She's also got a new linoleum floor for that home kitchen feel.

Just put a new stain job on my custom cup holder. Soon the custome wood paneling will match it.

Not the biggest fridge, but it does the trick.

This is my state of the art Atart-2600 game system ready to be fitted into lola. I'm still looking for an 80s ear wood grain tv to match.

.
I had been checking out new stereos for a while but even though it sounded like garbage, and ate my tapes, it was hard to part with the original equipment VW tape deck. It really added to Lola's sense nostalgia.
This was my first reluctant upgrade...if that's what you want to call it. Well it was still OEM.
.
And here's the final upgrade more than a year later.

Then came the speakers.
Here's a picture of my Show & Go participant’s badge. It was a good day. I pulled of a second place win. The funny thing is that the van had not been washed in two weeks, and I drove to the show strait from camping out in the woods the night before.

Here’s some pictures of Mini me. Or should I say Mini V? Ok that was a little corny but give me a break, I'm obsessed. She’s almost done but still under construction, mainly the interior. I’ve been trying to find a set of wheels that mach Lola’s but haven’t had any luck so far. And matching paint is a bitch.

Here are a couple pix of my old 76 westy "Popa Bear". I really wish the guys down at VW held on to that plad interior. It's a real bummer to see it die with the bay window buses.
A friend took this picture a couple of days after I bought it. I was in pure heaven. Notice the ear to ear grin.

I traded a friend this Bug and $1500.00 to get the bus. Yea the bug looked a little rough, but dont be fooled. I put allot of work into it. It had a Brand new 1600cc motor with a Bugpack stinger exhaust, new steel floor pans, custom breaks, 15x7 inch rims on the front 15x8 inch on the back, Custome widened fiber glass fenders (3" wider on the front 4" on the back) and the list went on and on. It sounded like a Harley and handled like a roller coaster.

The very day I sold him. A Much different facial expression. I sold him on Ebay and the guy who won the auction flew all the way from Chicago to pick him up and take him to his new home.
