1997 Saleen MustangI am the proud owner of a couple high performance Ford vehicles which include a 1997 Saleen S281 Mustang, and a 1993 Supercharged Ford F-150 Lightning. I am also proud to say they are mainly show cars which are well cared for and never driven hard. When viewing these pictures you will see how nice of shape they are keep in.I purchased the Saleen in 2000 from Danielson Ford in CT as a new vehicle right off the showroom floor. It now has 10,8000 miles. (As of 9-13-04) It is never driven in the winter or in any other weather other then sunshine. It is mainly only taken out for shows or occasional cruising. Everything on it is stock with the exception of a Mac off road H- pipe, which I personally installed in 2002. From some research that I have done I have found out some production numbers for this year. In 1997 there was a total of 327 S281 produced, and this one being number 112. And there was only 113 S281 coupes produced. Due to the lack of the popular options such as leather interior and the Saleen brake kit this makes it stand out in the crowd a little more. I also purchased the Lightning from Danielson Ford although I bought this used in 2001. I bought it with 87,000 miles and now it has 103,000 miles on it. (As of 9-13-03) Although this has high miles on it, it doesn't really show it. I have also kept this mostly original also. It does have a Vortech S-Trim Supercharger installed in it done by me in 2003. It also has Nascar style side exhaust, a Bassini off road, and an Art Carr prepared A40D tranny. This Lightning is #5233 of 5276 built in 1993. In 1993 there was only 2 color options: red and black. Neither of these colors have clear-coat. Of these 5,276 produced 2,585 of them were red. There is more pictures under Ford F-series trucks under the name blwn93, Dan and Jess...go check them out.
