After alot of sound clips, questions to experienced Mustang owners and horse power stats, I decided on going with a dual Flowmaster exhaust system. It sounds pretty damn good and it has a small, but definite power increase.
I went with the Flowmaster 40 series mufflers
These are my tips I decided on. They're stainless steel, so no rusting out.
Just a quick shot of the factory power robbing exhaust system.
Cutting out the over axle pipes.
And there you go. Ready for recycling.
Quick shot of the cats foward. I should have just left at this point and saved alot of money and had a loud ass car, lol.
Randy making all of those perfect bends.
Jason welding the pipe to the cats.
Mufflers are in place, time to get the rear pipes in.
Almost there, just a few new hangers to keep everything snug.
And wah la, from a factory restrictive exhaust system to a high out put performance system in about 2 hours.
Last shot in the air. That funny looking guy under the car is Jason admiring his art work. Now hurry up and bring it down so I can drive it!
I had the guys keep the tips just peeking out a little. I think it looks better like this.
Here's "SILVER BULLET" sitting in my drive way. I really like the look of the Magnaflow stainlees steel oval tips. The system sounds great and it gave me a little more pep. It's a great start to the first of many mods to come. I'd like to thank Randy and Jason over at Collins Muffler. You can check them out HERE
UPDATE, New 3"X16" tips. Big differance in sound too.
Wish I would have gone with rolled lip so I could see them better
