Modesto hosted possibly the largest PT Cruiser event in the United States over Memorial Day weekend. The PT cruiser club is very active here, and as you can see the turn out was amazing. I'm not a huge fan of the truck, but it is clear that the PT Cruiser has struck a cord with those who like to customize their rides yet still have them as daily drivers.
Here's a sampling:

As you can see, flames are popular. You'll also note, that the bumper which bisects the front grill is oven removed and replaced with a single billet piece. Also, classic period customizing is popular as could be seen with the teardrop trailers.

Here is a modern custom, straight from SEMA. Check out those seats, and custom dash. The top is fully removed, and a coupe hard top can be fitted in place. The passenger area is covered with a hard deck which attached to coupe top.

This one was truly amazing. A full on woody. The door handles have been removed, and the joinery for the different wood panels shows stunning craftsmanship.

Even though some PT owners would probably scoff, there is a bit of Japanese Import BLING with this example. Check out the BOV style air cleaner (?!)

I own Pugs, and this one is apparently the PUG Edition....

Of course, PT's are made DCX who also make Dodge Vipers. This one was retailing for $69,000. Maybe my Miata would look good with red calipers, too?
