The 4x4 - Here's my '97 Lada Niva, called
Popovski, it's usualy referd to as
Popov. Still in good shape and with only 92K (57mi) as of May '03. The previous owner hadn't done much maintenance and problems started right away, so I wasn't able to use it from June '03. I love this little 4x4... it's a strange thing to like riding a Lada, but it kind of grows on you. Overall, this Niva is nice and I'm counting on using it for a long time... Once it's fixed.
The Engine Bay - Originaly equiped with a 1.7L in-line 4, it's now stripped and ready to be upgraded. Details Here
The Interior - Currently stripped, it's going to be put back together when the new powertrain is intalled and working.
Interesting Fact - The original engine block will be sandblasted and clearcoted. It's will then become a restroom table stand.
