While I was gone my 97 Thunderbird has gone under the knife... and came out strong! It now has a 2.3l twin screw Supercharger from AED sitting on top of a motor that was built specifically to live with lots of boost. Aluminum Cobra block, P&P heads, forged rods, forged crank, Comp Cams, and lots of other goodies. Another major change is the T-56 transmission from an 04 Cobra that now lives in the Bird. Makes driving it much more fun. Every single piece of the suspension was replaced or upgraded, bushings, shocks, springs, ADDCO sway bars front and rear. Of course if you can accelerate that fast you better be able to stop just as fast right? 13" Cross drilled and vented rotors along with dual piston calipers up front to go along with 12" rotors in the back. It stops RIGHT NOW when you need it to. Now that the starting, stopping, and steering were done it was time to upgrade the interior and give it some fresh paint. The interior was gutted and all new carpet was installed along with some new Recaro Ergomed seats recovered in black...awesome seats! Every piece of the sound system is now Alpine...head unit, speakers, subs, and amps. It looks good and it sounds great. The car was stripped down and repainted black. No stripes, no flames, just plain black. After the new paint was on all the moldings, all the glass, and all the leights were replaced to make it look like it was brand new. The car looks beautiful, but when you start it up nearby car alarms will go off because of the lovely rumble this supercharged V8 makes...and of course the sound of that supercharger may be better than anything coming through the Alpine speakers. The all new DRTYBRD! It is currently still in the shop getting a few things completed. I will put up new pics soon. I just got back from Afghanistan and have not even driven it for over a year...
