SBNova's 1971 Chevrolet Nova
This is the engine in my 1985 Corvette. It is completely stock.. except for the 10 psi of twin intercooled Procharger boost !!!!!! The engine really was worn out before the procharger install and burned oil. The procharger was put on just to make sure it all worked because I bought it used. The new engine is coming together, but it will be another two to three months before it sees the car. It will be a roller cam'd 355, with a custom fabb'd EFI intake (by me). The stock TPI just wont flow enough, and superrams are just too much $$$.

Since I had so many requests to see the procharger and the intercoolers- here they are. I had to modify the kit because it was actually for a 90-92 Vette, which is different by more than I imagined. I made new intercooler mounts, and reworked alot of the plumbling too. You can see where I stuck the MAF if you look hard. The BOV's need to be moved still. They are after the intercoolers on each side, at the bottom. They need to be between the Procharger and the MAF. The computer doesnt like them where they are now as the air is being measured by the MAF, then dumped out the BOV's causing a rich mixture at idle. Anyway- heres the pics and excuse the dust and dirt as the car is undergoing bodywork.

The car is an 85, Z-51 with the 4+3 manual transmission. Its in rough shape but I am working on that too. Its nearly ready for paint right now.

I have all new weatherstripping for it, bought a new solid top to replace my cracked acrylic top, I have new moldings, a brand new GM front bumper, new front spoiler, the list goes on and on.

The engine I am building for the vette will use the Nova shortblock, with a few new parts. It will have a new Comp Roller cam, the Victor jr will either be modified for EFI, or I may get a Weiand team G as its about a 1/2 shorter to help with hood clearance. It will have an elbow adapter to use the TPI style throttle body. Other than that, its basically going to be the same 355, forged piston, steel crank, 200cc Sportsman head engine- but with the EFI and the Procharger it should rock.

I am currently burning my own chips for the engine now, getting used to how everything works so I can get a good tune on the new engine combo. Im using Tunerpro to modify the files, and I have WinALDL to scan the car and datalog. I have a Moates.net adapter/switcher that lets me store 16 different "tune ups" on one chip, and select between them with a dash mounted switch while the car is running. If you need basic chip changes for a GM EFI system- contact meat SBNova@Yahoo.com . I wont get too deep with changes for other people yet though. Just the simple stuff for now.

SBNova's 1971 Chevrolet NovaI was two tone blue but it will be black. The are new 17x9 and 17x11 ZR1 chrome wheels on it now, and brand new Kumho tires. I cant waite till its done! Even with the worn out engine- that boost is awesome!!!

UPDATED PICS, 4-6-04
Here are a few shots. The body work is more than half done now, and the whole car is in primer finally. You can see my wheels pretty good in these pics too.
