MrProject's 1991 BMW 5-SeriesWell, this is it! I searched long and hard for a solid daily driver, and eventually found this '91 BMW 535i in Leesburg, VA. I knew that it wouldn't last long, so I put a deposit down and drove out the next weekend...nothing like a 2500 mile roadtrip for a car with 172,000 miles! :)

MrProject's 1991 BMW 5-SeriesAs you can see, though, the car is in pretty good shape, and I'm quite happy with it. It's all stock for now, and it won't be wildly customized. I like to modify things to my taste, and I'm not a big fan of over-the-top styling add-ons or impractical performance mods that comprimise driveability. So, it will be tweaked a litte, maintained well, and driven enthusiastically. :)

MrProject's 1991 BMW 5-Series This picture shows the most important feature of the car... the 5-speed manual transmission! Since it's a 535i, it's the big M30 3.5l Inline-6, and the 5-speed tranny makes it really quite fun to drive. I never thought I'd say that about a 3600 pound car, but it really is! It's a whole different kind of fun than my old RX-7s or Corvairs, but it's fun nonetheless.

In the near future, I'll be doing my mild upgrades, and I'll update this site accordingly. Plan on seeing a little stereo enhancement, maybe some suspension work, integrating my cell phone into the factory hands-free setup, and most likely an EAT performance chip. Stay tuned!
