dasimp's 1974 Plymouth Colt Lincoln, NB Customized with Custom Gauges, Custom Seats, Custom Lighting, JBL Speakers, JBL Tweeters, JBL Subwoofers, Clarion Amplifier, Clarion Head Unit - 1This is a 1974 Plymouth Cricket ,it was purchased by my Wife on Oct/3/74 and has been with her since. The car currently is powered by a 1600 cc. engine and a five speed manual trans as per Plymouth specs , it was originally a four speed car , however , this winter it is getting a MAJOR drive train overhaul in the form of a 4.3 Chevrolet V6 , 4L80E four speed auto trans and a 8" Ford rear end . We are also updating the front suspension to a Mustang II set-up. It's been a long time in planning and now that the ball is rolling it is my plan to post updates as the project goes along .dasimp's 1974 Plymouth Colt Lincoln, NB Customized with Custom Gauges, Custom Seats, Custom Lighting, JBL Speakers, JBL Tweeters, JBL Subwoofers, Clarion Amplifier, Clarion Head Unit - 3 these are some pictures of how the car looks now and one of it in it's original color .dasimp's 1974 Plymouth Colt Lincoln, NB Customized with Custom Gauges, Custom Seats, Custom Lighting, JBL Speakers, JBL Tweeters, JBL Subwoofers, Clarion Amplifier, Clarion Head Unit - 2
Since my last post I have found an alternet route to take with the repowering of the Cricket which doesn't require as much cutting up as originaly planned . I am now going with a 2.6 turbo set-up out of a Mitsubishi Starion , which is pretty much a bolt in and allows me to keep the stock suspension up front and also gives me a 5spd trans to boot . I will still be going with a Ford 8" rear end . Wish me luck !
