Latest news 01/07/06: It's alive, finally! With a fair amount of starter fluid and carb cleaner, me and a buddy got this thing to fire up! It sounded like a tractor because there's a hole in the exhuast where the EGR tube connects. I have the tube, but I need to replace to old fitting because it was stripped bare when we took it out to rebuild the engine. Once I get that tube in, and get all the fluids in, it will just be a matter of working out the kinks. The main thing I need to do is adjust the timing because it is wack like a mug. Other than that, it's almost alive and breathing normally again.

Sweet car dude, I wish mine was that clean!! Paint and body is a ways away for mine, but I might end up paint the car its original color or close to it....silver. I might end get alittle ricer and have racing strips put on the hood, roof, and deck lid/hatch. You should come and check out my 454 Z car page, I've updated it with much newer and better pictures and added detail about the swap. Take care!!

Great looking car. I'm in Australia and we don't have the 2 seaters here. I have two of the 2+2s and a 240 2 seater. I am getting one of the 2+2 converted to a VH45 V8. Should be great. I'm not sure if you are in a club but if you are ever considering concourse you either have to keep the car standard or go all out. Your choice mate....

Great looking ZX. I'm looking forward to see those rims on. Check the wheels on my ZX, they where cheap but I still think they look quite good.

Hey Mason...it was pleasure meeting you. It's good to here your progress on the Z keep it up. So you have a new ECU...that's a good start. Check the connections on the AFM and see if you have any vacuum leaks. Good luck in the Navy, bro.
Later,
Chris

Nice looking 280ZX! Don't listen to the purists - there's nothing wrong with the good old hobby of HOTRODDING. That is, use whatever parts you want to make the car the way YOU want it to perform or look. The SBC swap into the ZX is not difficult. Check out HybridZ.org. Only irrational idiots worry about keeping a mass production car "all Nissan" or "all Japanese". It's a freaking mass produced car, not a 1 of 50 Ferarri GTO 250!!! So you won't be hurting it's resale value. "Moral" judgements about what's "right" and "wrong" to do to a mass produced car are irrational, immature, and very silly, once you open your mind.
