1969 LTD 2-Door Formal Top

99GreenZRX's 1969 Ford GalaxieThe 1969 Galaxie was noted as "Bigger, Wider, Longer, and Quieter". This new Ford grew in size and became even more luxury oriented than previous years. These big Fords were built with more room for the passenger. Still available were the XL models, LTD, in a range of body styles from the attractive Sportsroof and Convertible to the hardtop and wagon models. The XL models were available with either bucket or bench seat options. The Ford power team consisted of the 240 Six Cylinder, the 302 V08 with 220 horsepower, the 390 V-8 with 265 horsepower, the 429 Thunder Jet V-8 with 320 horsepower and the 429 Thunder Jet 4V with 360 horsepower. For transmission types the Full Size offered a three speed manual transmission, a 4 speed floor shift, and the Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic. The buyer had their choice of 15 single tone, and 24 two tone combinations for the exterior, and a large array of interior trim appointments. The 1969 featured a healthy list of options and accessories. Some of the most popular accessories were SelectAire air conditioning, tinted glass, 6 way power front seat, power windows, tilt steering wheel, and rear window defogger.

Hi Folks, I have two questions. I have a 69 Fairlaine 500 convertible that originally had a 351 4brl and it needs a motor, interior and body parts. I found a regular 69 2 door fairlaine that is in nice shape. How interchangable are these two cars. I need the windshield, the doors, the interior, the hood, not to mention possibly the 289 engine and trans. Should all of these parts fit the convertible? Doug 404-784-3365. Second question. I have a 1968 Galaxie XL convertible with a Marti report claiming it is a one of a kind. It runs and drives, motor and trans are not original, what is this car worth as is, and what would it be worth after a frame off full restoration? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks Doug

I think you should offer him about 700.00 dollars! That is fair seeing that it does not run and you will have to do alot of the owrk and that is not cheap. I replaced my top for around 500.00 bucks and the interior hit me for about 700.00! Lets not talk about the paint job and engine work wow I could have had a 10,000 car paid for lol!

Hello I need a little help. I am looking to buy a 69 galaxie. Not sure what the car would be worth. I was told that the car is a 69 with a 70 front and that only 28 of these cars were produced from the factory with a 429 fully optioned and with U shaped shifter. The car has been on a hoist for over 10 years the motor does not run. The interior is fair and it needs a new roof. The body is in good condition. Any information would be greatly appreciated and my email is vmss@tpg.com.au.Thanks....Vlado

Hey, I am emailing all the 69 Galaxie owners a question. I am doing a frame off restoration on mine. The body is off the frame and I need to know a measurement. I am replacing the entire trunk pan out of mine and need to know the measurement between the ground and the bottom of the trunk pan at the front (closest to the engine) right behind the rear differential. The reason I ask, is because I am replacing the trunk pan with one out of a 89 crown victoria, witch is very similar but a couple of inches deeper at that point. I want to know if I can go deeper and still have enough ground clearance. The differential is approximately 7 inches off the ground and the trailing arms under the rear springs are about 6 inches. If you can get me the measurement I'd greatly appreciate it. Please email me @ littledmac@gmail.com or post a comment to my page. Thanks, Damon
