ONE TON AXLE SWAP
Ok, well I have decided that my jeep axles are not going to be suffecient for what I want to do with my truck. So I bought a couple of 1 ton Ford axles and they are going in, in place of the toothpicks that are under there now...here are some pics of parts that I have gathered so far....
79 Dana 60 1979 Ford Front Dana 60 w/ welded 4.10s
77 Ford Rear Dana 60 w/ 4.10s and a DetroitDisc Brake brackets are from Great Lakes Off-Road...the calipers and rotors are from a 77 Chevy 3/4 ton truck
This is my new transfer Case..a well built NP231. It has the Tera-Low front half case, Tera-Low 4.1:1 low range gears, JB Conversions Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE), and the JB Conversions Wide Chain Kit. This case should work well with my truck and is a hell of a lot better than the stock 2.72 gears! lol...
Here are my new tires and wheels. I decided that I wanted a bigger tire since I was gonna have to buy new wheels for the 1 ton axles...I was originally planning on buying some 39.5s, but I ended up with some 36s instead..36x13.5x17 IROK radials and the wheels are factory H2 alumnium wheels. Those wheels will keep my tires tucked in a little bit, but I will still be wide!
Here are a few random pics of my truck once we started dis-assembly (again)....the coilovers after a year look like absolute crap, I am very unhappy with protective coating that is supposedly on there...I talked to Fox about them and they said it is normal for them to do that in the northern areas, since the salt will cause them to corrode...they said it will clean up with a scotch brite pad....we shall see..some more updates..here are the pics These are pics of my transfer case skid plate frame and the lower link batwing for the triangulation.
just some random pics of the truck so farMore coming soon!!!! more pics on page 5

Nice Truck! Little taller than my IFS ZR2 coming in at 55'' height on the mirror bracket. SFA is the way to to if for maxmum clearance and less of breaking things.
