1969 GTO
This was my 1969 Pontiac GTO. 400ci 3 speed manual.
A friend owned the car for about five years,it just sat in his garden, he had painted a few bits, then just left it to rust. i tried to buy it several times but he didnt want to sell it.
i had almost given up. then out of the blue he rang me,
he was getting married and moving house and the car had to go.
It took 2 years to restore, all work was carried out by me. the wife got a new kitchen i got a double garage, sounded like a good deal to me.if you look at the pic it only just fitted in my single garage.that was with no front end on it. the car was stripped sand blasted and all the rust cut out and weld repaired.
This is the GTO today i meet the current owner when racing the chevy. it has changed hands several times, it know has the correct bonnet. is now an auto with lsd.it wasnt quicker than the chevy. looked at the motor it has a later motor in it, shame the one i built was a good one.
