Can any other jag owners please tell me what the valet button in the arm rest of the center console is for? Also a light came on in the dash for a min that said "TRACK FAIL" after I pulled onto a highway from a gravel road, dose anyone have any ideas what that might be?

Thats my Cougar next to my Jag, A family of five deer jumped out in front of it, two hit the side, and one got hit head on.

Trac fail meaning your traction control malfunctioned. You can disable that by switching it off. The switch is located on the right of your steering beside the odometer button. You don't really need traction control if you don't live in a snowy or slippery area. Valet button does 2 things, it puts your car in valet mode when you let someone park your car and it also programs your key fob if you ever need to reprogram it.

Sometimes jaguars go through hick-up stages, where if they dont start the right way it will indicate a false light, my 96 jaguar xj12 does the samething. Nothing to worry about.

The Valet button activates "Valet Mode" on your Jaguar. What this basically means is that it restricts performance (rev limiter) and locks all lockable areas such as Glove-Box, restricts power options, etc. This basically puts the car in a useable state ready for Valet parking, where it can still be driven slowly, but securely. TRAC NOT AVAILABLE error is likely due to your battery not pulling good enough voltage. It probably only does it on a cold start right? Get a new battery, that should be the resolution. Beautiful Jaguar though. Look after her! All the best, Scott
