This is my VT Calais. It has factory supercharged V6 3.8l engine.
Current mods: - I have installed a 2.6" pulley, it now runs 10-12 psi.(with the cooler)
- I have made a custom front mounted AIR to AIR Intercooler.
- I have made a custom set of extractors and dual 2.5" exhaust.
- A Gold 98 Powerchip, bought from ebay.
- A set of 17" ANZ Matrix wheels
- A set of Super low king springs.
- A huge ICE install, consisting of a Alpine headunit, controlling an Alpine Digital EQ/Processor. This feeds signals to Alpines biggest 4ch. amp(F407) and Alpines biggest two channel amp(1507). The speakers consist of; - front, a pair of 4" MTX 6000 splits in the kick panels, combined with a set of 6" MTX 6000 splits in the doors with the tweeters in the plastic corner cover. In the rear I have a set of Pioneer 8" 3 way component speakers on the parcel tray. The Subs are a pair or Soundstream SPL 15Ns DVCs.
(ORIGINAL Current/future plans: - I have just finished making a spacer plate to go in between the supercharger and the inlet manifold. This will allow the addition of a front mounted AIR to AIR intercooler. I have the cooler core, but I am just trying to find the time to make the end tanks, and fit it to the car. After that is done, I'll be getting it tuned and then see what the power is like. After the intercooler is installed, I'm hoping for about 270-280rwhp. After that, I'll be adding a DIS-4HO MSD ignition controller, and a custom grind cam.
I'm hoping for a power figure in excess of 300rwhp, once all of the mods are complete.)
Now the future plans are quite simple, with the car already producing 294 rear wheel HP(219kw) I have well exceeded my original plan of producing 270-280 rwhp. I now have a much bigger picture in place. First thing is to see exactly how much power I can get out of the internally standard motor. I still run the original rockers, cam everything. Everything is totally stock. I'll be using water/methanol injection to keep things cool, I'll also be experimenting with a slightly smaller pulley. Other things include mods to the exhaust, intake system (including throttle body and airbox.)
I don't know what my target HP will be but I want to get the most I can out of this little M90 on a stock motor.
After I have done all I can, it's time for the internal mods. Custom cam, port and flow the heads, port match everything. I might experiment with different sized headers and collectors. Once I have done all I can internally and externally and I have finally run out of puff with the little M90, it's time for a whipple!!!!
Plus a full engine rebuild with all the good stuff thrown in.
How long this will take? Who knows, How much? I don't want to know. But i know one thing it's going to be one tuff v6!!!
