UPDATE: 2005 I just recently installed a Crower 60916 camshaft, 221/229 @ .050, .455/.470 112 LSA. Centerforce DF clutch. I am still running low compression in the 8.3 range with the 6x4 heads. While this cam likes higher compression it runs really good. The engine pulls hard in the mid to upper rpm. I think the new cam really complements the 3.73 gears. Car will chirp the tires when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. Will be adding a electric fuel push pump under the tank. With proper launch, the TA should be able to rip off some mid 13's at the 1/4 mile track.UPDATE: 2006 My Trans Am is the star in a new car show coming out soon. Electric fuel pump is installed.UPDATE:2007 No news for the Trans Am. Went to a few car shows thats about it. Showed my tailaights to a 06 Mustang GT on the way back from a car show. I thought they would run better than that since they are rated at 300hp. No match for the Trans Am.Update:2008 The biggest change was going from the Crower 60916 cam to the new Compcam Extreme 256. 212/218 @.050 .447/.455 110 LSA. Overall the XE 256 gives strong low end and midrange power , ideal with my low compression 400. The Crower would have been a beast with 10.1.1 compression. Plans are to go back to 3.23's gears, while the 3.73's are fun around town, they are not on the highway. Also going back to the factory log manifolds. While performance will suffer compared to the previous set up the car will still be fun to drive . This 400 motor with the XE cam makes a alot of torque. Other changes: I also removed the electric fuel pump, as it will not be needed anymore. Another nice change was I installed LED's in the TA's tailights. Awesome at night.I just purchased a gorgeous 1993 Pontiac Firehawk # 118. It will be garage kept and driven only on nice days. I plan on keeping it stock as it runs very strong.OLD NEWS The black 1995 Formula was purchased with 65k on the odometer. The previous owner had installed a WS6 hood and airbox. Along with a 160 thermostat with the fans reprogramed to come on sooner, the engine ran very cool. This car ran in the high 13's. Car was sold May 2004.New DYNO #'s.. 281 RWHP...297 RWTQ for my 1995 LT1 Formula at Diesel Performance Motorsports Mobile Dyno. April 10th 2004, see dyno picture below.
