BMW Traffic Pro (model 4771) E38 install
BMW offers a DIN sized talking satellite navigation system in Europe that fits in the dash in place of the regular radio, cassette/radio, or in-dash single CD/radio. BMW NA had prepared to introduce these units in the Z3 and had a big "roll-out" party in So Carolina...but then, all of a sudden, kind of pulled the plug. Since that time these units have trickled out into the market and as of March 2006...its been announced that there are approx 40 (+/-) units left.

Here's a link to an article about these units from the March 2002 Roundel: BMW Traffic Pro write-up in Roundel

Here's a link to a BMW Traffic Pro (4771) installed into David Cecil's 1992 750iL (E32): BMW Traffic Pro Install into an E32 BMW

And for more info about these units than I care to even think about typing...go to this link: BMW Traffic Pro User's Web Page
