Brakes

I have some pictures I will be uploading soon of the brakes and where they are at now. I am in the proccess of removing all the old rigid brake lines from the master cylinder right to the calipers/drums. Also I am replacing all the rubber hoses that are on there now with steel ones. Also just to get ready for the road this summer will mean replacing all the pads and shoes that are on there now.

What I plan on doing though is going big with the brakes up front, as in a big brake kit. This winter I want to order this kit below:

SuDZ27's 1974 Datsun 260Z These monsters although pictured with 5 lugs do come in a setup with four. These will push the front rots up to a 13 inch size and will include calipers and harware. That will take care of the front. These can be found at www.modern-motorsports.com if your intrested. This should take care of just about any issues with old harware etc before hitting the road NEXT summer.

To round off the braking and take care of the rear, I want to order from the same place an upgrade for the back. For that I will go with is replacing the drums out back for some 11.4 inche Brembo rotors and new calipers. This will give me plenty of stopping power.

Here are some pictures of the rear brakes that I took apart the other day anfter a lot of hammering and a lot of Break-Away

I don't think I could have as much dedication as you on a car like this. I look forward to seeing the finalized project. I am actually test driving a 260Z today (9/6) at a local dealership (i'm surprised they would have it on the lot). Check out my 98 Mercury Sable LS Kevin
