SOUND SYSTEM
Head unit is a SONY CDX-MP80, with flip down, detachable face and CD tray loading.

Shift knob is in 5th in photo, so no clearance problems with tray loadingKeithGreen's 1992 Mazda Miata
KeithGreen's 1992 Mazda MiataA lousy night picture, the screen color can be changed to different colors. Here, red is depicted, but the pic came out "yellow". It's actually a dark, deep red, very visible and stunning at night (especially with red interior lighting).

Speakers are 4 Max-5s in the headrests KeithGreen's 1992 Mazda Miata

Polk components in the doors. The tweeters could be flush mounted, but I thought they sounded better angled back in the cockpit slightly. The nice thing about the '92 is that it's easy to use the OEM speaker grills.

I mounted the 4 channel, 85 watt amp to a fabric covered board in the trunk, hinged to the back wall so it can be lifted to still get at items placed inside the spare tire.

Underneath the style bar, and part of the boot, and the carpet, are the 8" Kicker subs. Notice you can't see them, and they don't get in the way or take up any cargo space, which is as it should be.

Picture of the Kicker sub in the "Hakuna" install, taken from the trunk. The "white" is foam insulation from the soundproofing process. This picture was taken with the speaker fill packing obviously removed.

I didn't like the short flexible rubber antenna that was on the car, so I found this "cell phone" look alike, which works well.
