I bought my Midget in October of 1999, to the best of my knowledge it has lived it's whole life in Texas. The midget was in very good condition however I did change the front and rear springs not long after I brought it home.

When I brought it home in October of 99 this is the way it looked, the stripes were original (most likely a dealer add on) I have never seen another Midget with these stripes, I think it gave the car it's own personality.

With the car disassembled and loaded onto the trailer it's time for some new paint.

The Midget has always looked good but I felt it was time for new paint and interior, this picture was taken within a few hours of downloading it from the trailer. A new paint job and now the real fun began.

Every evening when I got off work, and of course on the weekends, I would work on the car slowly putting it back together.

As can be seen in this photo I found it a lot easier to wrap all the wiring in aluminum foil instead of trying to use tape or paper, the foil just wraps around, crush it and move on to the next area.

Without a doubt the hardest part of this car to deal with is the windshield, it comes off real easy but is fun to install.

With the exterior pretty well back together was time to move on to the next phase.

I purchased the suffolk leather interior package from Victoria British, it's a really nice and comfortable interior.

Of course every nice car must have a nice stereo, I was told by too many people that there is no way to put a decent stereo in an MG Midget. If you wish to listen to the nay-sayers then fine but I figured there had to be a better way, Victoria British offers a blank center console, I measured out all the components that needed to be installed then started cutting, I did find out that because it is a CD player the length became a problem. I looked all over for a spacer and finally found one at a local custom stereo installation shop. Now the only problem is the speakers.

The only good solution was to find box speakers that had the right dimensions to fit in the back so I wouldn't have to destroy the back panel of my interior. The MTX 10" speakers fit like a glove.

One of the nicest upgrades I put on my Midget was the exhaust, the Monza Exhaust offered through Victoria British gives the car a lot of personality.

On 18 October 2003, I entered the Mig into the Houston All British Motor Vehicle Expo and was pleased to walk home with third place, there were some really nice cars on display.

Third place, now that's not bad for being the first time to ever be entered into a car show.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures.

With my MG loaded onto the trailer it's time to go to the AUTORAMA.

A little touch up here and there.

Caught in the act.

It's showtime!

After three days of AutoRama fun it was time for the awards, there were many cars and they all deserved first place.
In the end, the class I was in was Foreign Sports, here is how it went:

First place. A 1986 Nissan 300ZX.

Second place. My Mig.

Third place. A 1960 Bugeye Sprite.

As you can see, first place and third place were well deserved, I was extremely happy to receive second. I was not able to meet and congratulate them in person but if by chance they ever stumble onto this page, Congratulations.

Of course I could not have done any of this without the help and support of my beautiful wife,

She has a 1971 MGB, soon she and I will start to take it apart and rebuild it.
