10-4-04 update: Sold the rims, Got a few new parts, car is currently in the shop for approx 900 bucks worth of overdue front end work
-wheel bearings
-ball joints
-sway bar links
-tie rods
-4 wheel alignment and camber reset correctly

I'm contemplating selling the car or buying a set of BBS RGR rims for it.
Overall the car is running great though, depending on how i feel after the car is out of the shop and freshend greatly, ill make my decision. If i do decide to sell, it will keep the mods, plsu the new exhaust/high flow cat, plus a underdrive pulley all installed. Will be looking for ~4000 range for the car.

I bought some new wheels/tires, the wheels are made by MAS Italy and are 17x7.5, the tires are 215/40/ZR17's
i'm still using wheel spacers in the rear to kick the back track out a bit extra, the extra stability is nice, combined w/ the rather large offset of these wheels the handling is very very aggressive.

ps - the 235/45's did not rub severely, only slightly on full lock, and i have a mudflap that is about to fall off, other than the misplaced mudflap they were completely driveable.

3-17-04 received intercooler and radiator for install..

This page is here to document the progress I ammaking with the car, if you have any questions you can email me

2-17-04 New H&R wheel spacers(10mm) came in finally, im using these to increase the rear track to match the front, so the wheels dont look goofy in the rear. Ill also use some Adjustable camber units in the front to increase the negative camber to keep the cars handling very balanced(the rear spacers will promote understeer).

Here are three pictures of my current intake setup, the first shows hte metal hose removed from the heatshield of the exhaust manifold

the second shows how i removed the flap from inside the bottom of the airbox, this can be done by removing the entire airbox form the car, taking the bottom half(w/ no filter) and sliding it apart(its two parts) this is hard to do as it snaps in place, once you have the piece w/ the two holes in it and the flap, unscrew it's three screws and remove the flap from it, put it all back together now and reinstall it, now you can plug the back hole that once let hot air into your engine, heres a pic of the removed flap in the box and then of the method i used to cover the rear hole in the airbox(its a spray paint can lid and duct tape)

2-15-04 New intake in the works
After going through several intake setups including cones, cold air intake cone setups(crappy heat shields) and one extreme setup using the top half of the airbox mated directly to the TB adaptor(talk about loud) i was finally back to a modified version of the original airbox(essentially gutted of its emissions control equipment) this was good for a solid increase in WHP over the stock setup. Now i am developing completely from scratch a setup that will work much better i am sure of. The picture below details w/ silver arrows the air path of the stock as well as my current intake setup, the red arrows outline where new tubing will run directly from the TB to the stock intake point for cold air. The new filter will be a design like the bmc CDA, or like a fuel filter if you will, a fully enclosed filter. In order to keep restriction to a minimum im probably going to have minimal filtering with it, so probably not a ogod idea for a dusty area.

if you check the curb weight in 93 and 94 was recorded as low as 3100 lbs up to about 33200 lbs, earlier 850's are much lighter due to more use of aluminum, less safety equipment, mostly side air bags etc, my car had no options either, power seats etc add up. my wheels are also some ofthe lightest OEM rims avail. My stock weight was right at 3140 lbs, removal of carpeting, the rear trunk area(40lb spare) lighter weight battery and various trim and unnessecary pieces yeilded me ar ough estimate of 2900, which is probably on the modest side. Especially after the ordered seats come in, that alone will be around a 70-80lb reduction.
