Please check out my new ride, 2006 Ford Mustang
**Update**
The day has come that I didn't think would really come. I am no longer the proud owner of "Speedy." She has been traded in on my current ride, a 2006 Ford Mustang V6 Premium coupe. I will always have fond memories of this car and while it wasn't the first car on my list I wanted to get when I purchased it new in 2002, I grew fond of it, and loved it very much. I have had many of a good times, and a few bad times in this car. I grew much more than I did in any other car I owned previously. I hated to give her up, but my desire to get my dream car won out over keeping the Cavalier. Hopefully this won't be the end of the Cavalier connection with me. I have written down the VIN to my yellow beauty in hopes that one day I might be able to track her down and buy her back.
The one thing I truly regret that I didn't do when I had this Cavalier was explore her possibilities and I never did any of the things I wanted to do such as add a bodykit and increase her performance.
A message to the new owner of my Cavalier, please take care of her, she was pampered and deserves nothing but the best from her new owner.
This page will remain up to honor her memory and time with me.

This is my 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, that I purchased on December 17, 2002 from Herndon Chevrolet in my hometown of Lexington. The car isn't even a year old yet and I have about 20,000 miles on it so it's needless to say that I do a lot of travelling in this car. This is my second car I've purchased new and my third car overall. Previous to this I was an owner of a 1988 Chevrolet Corsica (grey with burgandy interior) and a 1999 Hyundai Accent GL (warm silver with light grey interior.) Those two cars alone had to be the slowest vehicles I'd ever driven in my life, so it's nice to have a ride with a little bit of style and some definite speed behind it as compared to my previous rides.
When I was looking for a new car to replace my Accent, I really wanted to get a Mustang as I am a big fanatic of Ford Mustangs. I had the one I wanted pick out at a local dealership, however, when the final numbers were crunched at the dealership the total cost in financing was way too much for me to handle and I had to give it up. I test drove a few more cars including a Toyota Corolla S, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Dodge Neon before deciding on the Cavalier. I guess what tipped my scales was the 0% financing, the 90 day grace period plus the $1,000 cash back that was given to me for purchasing this car.
As you can tell (or maybe you can't) I purchased the base model of the Cavalier, my thinking at the time was that I didn't need any of the extras that came with the LS and LS Sport models. Now that I think about it, I wish I would have at least attempted to get an LS Model...because summers down in the South are unpredictable, not to mention brutally hot, so it's real hard to try to wind up my windows travelling down the road at 80 mph, when a thunderstorm decides to break out.
Not that you can notice it from this picture here, but I had a minor defect in my car where someone decided they would park (or rather slam) one of those grocery store metal carts into my car than just put them in the coral where they belong. The long and short of it is that it ended up chipping the paint on my lower left bumper, I did my best to touch it up with some paint however, I didn't do too good of a job as it looks more now like my bumper is dirty rather than touched up by paint.
Although I was "heavily" advised by the dealership where I purchase my car from not to do any modifications (i.e. removing the radio) I have done 2 modifications. The first was to replace the factory radio with a Kenwood MPV619 which you see pictured on the left. The other was to replace the factory headlamp bulbs with a set of faux BMW headlamp bulbs that give off a blue tint. Some of the other mods I plan for in the future which includes:
**New Body Kit
**Altezza Taillamps with carbon fiber trunk bezel
**New springs and coils
**Cold Air or Short Ram Air Intake
**New Exhaust System with Dual Exhaust Pipes
**Yellow and Black racing seats for the front and Yellow and Black seatcovers for the rear.
**17 inch Enkei Estrella wheels
**Lowering of car by about 0.9 inches
**27% tint grade to my windows
**Power Window upgrade kit from either Electric Life or SPAL.
If I can swing it in my budget I would like to have my car repainted a lighter shade of yellow and add the supercharger for the 2.2L Ecotec engines but those two things alone may be the only mods I will probably never be able to afford to do to my Cavi but for now, I'm enjoying my Cavalier the way it is. There's just something cool about it and I like it. I even get paid compliments on it from time to time by hot chics so if they like it, I couldn't have made a bad choice.
***Update***
On 04/30/2004, I was involved in an automobile accident in which I hit a doghouse on the Interstate (I kid you not). It ended damaging the left side bumper, quarter panel, door, undercarriage, tire well, tire, rim and a few other things. I should have my car back on 05/14/04...I'm having the body shop where I'm getting it repaired due a few cosmetic enhancements including removing the front mud guards and body molding (instead of reapplying it). Will post pics of the "new" look in the near future.
