Here are my two Air-Filters,(on the hood of my 86'Chrysler Laser) one for "Street" (daily driving) & one for the "Strip" (the 1/4 mile) The one on the left is my Daily-driving filter, it's a 14"x4" Dual-Stage Performance Power Filter made by ACCEL.

SuaveMatt101's 1972 Ford Mustang

(believe it or not, it out-performs K&N, I didn't believe ACCEL's "claims" at first, so I bought both ACCEL & K&N filters(same size) & Tried em' both on my Stang'... The ACCEL made it run better! It's made in the USA, & they both have a "limited" life-time guarentee, But ones costs less)Needless to say I took the K&N back. The Holley "Free-Flow" Filter on the right is my "Strip" Filter.(It works wonders on the Track) But as far as daily driving goes...haha, Lets just say it dosn't filter as well as it Breathes (Don't use it on the Beach)
Here are the "stock" OEM parts that used to be on my engine when I first got it. The Air-Breather, "power by ford" valve covers, 302 2-V ford intake manifold, and the ford four-blade fan... SuaveMatt101's 1972 Ford Mustang SuaveMatt101's 1972 Ford Mustang
Here are various pictures of my Engine(302) with both Air Breathers.

Here's the "system" I use in my Stang' (it's all been taken out because I've quit driving it...)

SuaveMatt101's 1972 Ford Mustang

Here's all of it, two Pioneer 3-way 6x9's (250 watts), two Legacy 12" subs(450 watts) a Pioneer Head unit, and a "Mobile Authority" (500 watt) amp for the subs. It's no competition winner, but it sounds really nice.

Really nice car, looks like you've got a lot of cutting and grinding ahead of you. I got lucky and got one with no rust problems except a little surface rust in the trunk.
