aamcosh's 1989 Pontiac FirebirdIS MY FIRST OF MANY I WILL SHOW BEFORE AND AFTER SOON! I FOUND HER IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE.SHE HAD 2 PREVIOUS OWNERS. I COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHY I GOT SUCH A DEAL. WELL I FOUND OUT THE HEAD GASKETS WERE BLOWN! WELL NO BIG DEAL ITS A LATE MODEL 305 AND I HAD A PAIR OF 1.96 HEADS FROM A 350 SO I PUT THEM ON WITH MSD IGNITION WIRES.CHROME VALVE COVERS.ILL HAVE MORE DONE SOON AND CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE PROS AND CONS OF PUTTING THOSE 350 HEADS ON?

the only thing you might have to worry about with the 350 heads is your compression. if the heads cc to about the same chamber volume as the the heads that are on it, they should bolt right up and work fine. just make sure you don't have 76cc truck heads. while these heads work great on a larger-displacement 350 truck, the lower compression will kill your bird's power. the idea of bigger valves may sound good, but a larger combustion chamber will destroy anything larger valves might accomplish. good luck with your car, it should be an awesome project vehicle!
