wheels came in and installed! went macho stance with the wheels on stock fenders. 17x9 +20 all around. only running 225 and 235 width tires, but the wider track makes the car feel very planted in corners. wish they had 17x9.5.. but this will do for now.

as mentioned above, i ordered some new wheels. i curbed one of the FN01R's :P used that as an excuse to get some NC-10R's!
sneak peek...

Got some Falken RT-615 (255/40/17) mounted for the rear since my Sumitomo's wore prematurely due to bad alignment, driving on low air pressure, and for retarded peg-legged wheel spins out of sharp corners. I have to say, the grip difference is IMMENSE... I need to readjust the suspension :) Still need an LSD!!!
Hope to run some wider tires up front once I find a suitable wheel to replace the 17x8 I have mounted in front. The offset is too high and I cannot run anything larger than a 225 :(

my front suspension still needs to be looked at, but i tightened up what i can in the rear, and added some toe and camber while i was down there. responds and handles much better, and i fixed the messed up alignment which was chewing up my left rear tire

not quite sure how my "overall rating" is higher than the rest of the ratings of my car haha, but anyways thanks for those who have voted on my ride.
as of now, i've temporarily switched back the '91 Camry so that i can have the suspension looked over to replace anything that needs to be replaced. things have begun to rattle, clunk, vibrate, and feel less responsive... typical for a car that's reaching 18 years haha.
main concerns are:
clunk in suspension, probably worn ball joints or worn lca bushings
wheel vibration/noise, probably worn wheel bearings

had an alignment done to the specs i wanted not too long ago. never posted the pics though. 17x10's are the perfect match in the rear!

for some odd reason my most recent updates were up online, then reverted back so i won't waste my time rewriting what was written. basically i got some wheels to clear the brakes which were swapped with 4-pot calipers up front from the Z32

got a used short shift from driftmotion. installed it friday night. works great, but need to find a way to squeeze the boot back on with the shifter base sitting so close to the console...

had some spare time so i test fitted a one-off Bomex bumper made specifically for the Cressida. it's not exactly my taste, but it's a start. this was a test fit only and i have no intention of driving around with the front bumper 1" off the ground!

my camera is busted so i don't have pics, but the car is all up and running now and wow that 1J pulls.... it's shifter boot/knob-less at the moment so it's not comfortable making quick upshifts but that'll only be temporary. here's the first run vid if i can get it to work. aaron from driftmotion is driving

no update in long time... got word from jose and looks like the pedals have come along nicely. was told the reservoir is a tight fit, but should work still... just a little longer before she gets back on the streets

once again no pics, but it seems everything is coming together slowly and hope to have it by christmas time.

no pics, but the gasket kit (supposed to have arrived earlier) had arrived today and the seals are all on. the motor is ready to be dropped back in for final fitment checks.

probably wed, going to go pick up a few parts. i should sell some of the stuff i have left over.. may be in the near future

a bit of news before the car will be done. there have been many set backs but basically i had to have the swap re-done basically due to the fact that mike has passed away and now driftmotion is taking over the rest (and because i was basically missing ALL necessary parts to complete the swap). for that reason i went along and purchased a JZX90 1JZ which is lower in mileage, cleaner, and isn't a mystery motor like the one i have now.
the car was dropped off and the search for manual pedals still continues

just came back from vegas after i came back from japan... and my internet is screwed up at home so it's difficult to update anything at all... hope i can get it up and running soon
7-20-2005
bought complete 5 speed JZX81 changeover parts for the cressida today. the motor cleaner than the one i have now. i'll try to get pics soon, but i leave for japan on the 24th so probably no updates until i get back
