ChenZhen's 2000 Mercury Cougar

I bought this cougar off an autotrader.com ad ....but for some reason I felt the need to change it....
ChenZhen's 2000 Mercury CougarFor example: the bodykit was imported directly from Stoffler Autotechnik in Germany (the ground effects attach to the stock bumpers). The Stoffler kit features a really cool rear diffuser that is removable and adjustable, and allows for a dual exit exhaust to look nice and natural.... This kit is very rare in north america ...the stainless exhaust was made by Trubendz in Florida...also I have the Wings West grill insert, Aerogear Z fenders and OEM style carbon fiber hood...the Mercury badge was replaced with a black Ford oval (since the oval is on every part of the car anyway)...the stock spoiler was also shaved to reveal the smooth body lines of the car...ChenZhen's 2000 Mercury CougarI also removed the rest of the badging on the trunk and the silly pinstripe that came from the dealer...other mods include smoked sidemarkers and Mille Miglia Sfera 17x7.5 rims with the Michelin Pilot 225/45/17 rubber...also I took apart the headlights and painted the insert to match the car color... Since the Cougar has terrible wheel gap in the front I installed Ground Control coilovers and Koni adjustable struts to lower the car as I saw fit (along with improve the handling) ...an OMP front strut tower brace was added to increase stiffness in the handling...for a little extra power we put in the Weapon R intake with ram air and cold air box under the hood, although this probably does little more than make it sound really cool....as far as the stereo goes I have my trusty old Pioneer DEX-M88 running everything with two a/d/s/ PS5 amps bridged to each Infinity Perfect 6.1 in the door (I actually changed the illumination bulbs on the deck to match the dash lights in the car)...I also have 2 Rockford Fosgate HE 12" subs running off an old PPI 2150AM amp...there are Monster Cable I401XLN interconnects between all components and a 1 farad cap...to deaden vibration we used alot of Dynamat eXtreme in the rear hatch area....oh and I also have the Pioneer 6-disc changer inder the dash...plus the Clifford alarm...ChenZhen's 2000 Mercury Cougar After all this I am probably happy with the car for the most part but I will probably make some improvements to the brakes and maybe some more cosmetic changes in the future ....right now the front end is about 4" off the ground so I don't drive it in the winter anymore ....Finally ...many thanks to Sprague's Speed Tuning in Minnetonka MN for all the help with the mods.....more pics on page 2 :)
