May 2005
Sice the last update, my truck has recieved a new engine and transmission (third one of each). I stuck with the little 2.8L and decided to warm it up a little with some mild head work and a Comp Cams 264S grind camshaft. It goes rather decently, but I was an idiot and stuck with the stock Motorcraft 2150 2V carb, so it runs out of breath around 5000rpm. An upgrade to a Holley 350 could be in the near future.
Other than above, nothing much has changed in the last year or so as far as my truck goes. It's now rolled over to the 330,000km mark. It gets driven 5000+km's every month so the mileage is starting to show. The steering and front suspension are sacked and will be getting an overhaul sometime this summer. I have had the parts for over a year, but haven't had the time to do the work.
I did manage to relocate the ignition coil from the driver's side inner fender to the passenger's side cylinder head. The result, a much shorter coil lead (less than six inches long compared to almost 2 feet).

I was having some trouble with a miss fire that would come and go from time to time. As time went on it got worse and worse until I couldn't handle it anymore. I went through the ignition system and replaced anything and every thing that was questionable and relocated the coil. I ditched the 8.8mm Accel plug wires (which are crap) and went to 8mm Accel Sprial Coil wires and also decided to try Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs.
Needless to say, no more miss fire and the smoother idle was definitely worth it for sure.

New (to me) grille + fat grouse = busted grille

My truck with the new (to me) 15x8 Explorer rims I picked up for cheap:
