This is the way 4Runners were meant to be. The new ones, starting in 2002, are basically minivans with leather seats and DVD screens. For off-roading you can't beat the first and second generations. These things can take a beating!

This is my 1990 3.0 V6 4Runner. It has Toyo Open Country tires, a modified Y-pipe dual exhaust system (which is now fully mounted up, not like in the image,) a Westin grill guard, Rancho shocks, and a near-perfect interior. Aside from a few rust bubbles, which were badly painted over, the body is in excellent condition. I will take it to a body shop soon and have that minor problem fixed.

These pictures make it look darker than it actually is, by the way. And the sticker on the back is US Cavalry Tank Corps.

Oh yeah...Did I mention I have a completely out-of-control fetish for redheads (especially the ones with freckles) ?

Right now i'm looking to put a roof rack and four roof lights on top of it. Where can I find these?

I'm also looking for body and suspension lifts, but they're hard to find for this year vehicle. Any suggestions, fellow 4runner owners?

Nice looking 4runner, I also have a 90' myself and those things can take a beating.
I also have a safari rack along the roof of mine with four Hellas w/two generic rear lights. (Very fun to use in backroads.)
I bought my Safari Rack new off ebay for around 234 bucks and sprayed it down with primer to keep it from rusting. If your aiming for a cheaper rack, ebay most of the time works.
Although the one I bought was meant to be fitted on a existing luggage rack, seeing it simply clipped onto it.

You can simply find them via various internet search engines, or your local car/truck mod shop and most of them are pretty easy to mount on if you already have a luggage rack and a buddy.
The price range on yours is going to be between 360-450.00 U.S. dollars from a price quote someone gave me awhile ago. But the dude might of been ripping me off a bit.

They are awesome to have, and look pretty sweet when fitted. But fitting the lights will be a pain in the rear end. A mod shop which mounted mine took them at least four hours and ended up drilling a decent size hole on my roof in order to connect the lights.

Awesome toyota, man. You're right about the third and fourth generation 4Runners. You just can't beat the early models. Oh yeah, and I'm with you on the redhead/freckle thing. Happy off roading, bud!

Nice Runner man. Looks clean. Check out my 93. I just put on a 4" Superlift/Pro Comp kit and 33s. Pro Comp, Superlift, and Trailmaster make kits for your Runner. Well, keep me posted man. Good luck. Later. -Mike
