Update - New owner as of Saturday, January 14th, 2006. It has a GTI hood now, I'll put some final pics up before she's gone forever...
Sad news, sellin the Jetta. Scored a 1991 GTI with a complete VR6 swap from a 93 SLC. A friend of mine did some great work on it and really gave me a head start on what will be an amazing car.
I got these kickass gauges from my friend Dave:
NEW!!:
TT 260 degree cam and Adjustable gear. At first the butt-dyno didn't register much. Then I retarded it 4 degrees and proceeded to tear up the Michigan Autobahn. It's not quite as quick in the low revs but much better between 4800 and 6500. I don't rip into my engine that often so will probably bring it down to -2 or 0 degrees where it's more practical, we'll see.
I just swapped in a close-ratio transmission off of a MK2 VW and it rocks. First gear is the same and the rest are shorter. This is a butt-dyno approved modification and can be done in one day if you have the patience and tools. To see my write-up go here.
