Victom of a broken valve.
This was my 2.0 SPI turbo, worked great for a little over a year. Dont think that this will happen to you, it was a problem not directly related to the power output or the turbo system. The day it happend the timing belt tentioner came loose on me twice, but the second time I was'nt lucky enough to just reset the cam/crank and be on my way.
The other 3 cylenders showed no signs of damage from lean conditions or detonation. If that valve did not break, this motor would still be on the road today boosting away.
