Fog Light Mod
=======================
The First thing you will need to do is to get the proper tools
1: Phillips Head Screwdriver
or 10mm Socket
2: Scissors
3: Electrical Tape
4: Needle Nose Pliers
5: Trim Removal Tool
8: Tap In Squeeze Connectors
9: Wire
10: Small Flat Head Screwdriver

======
GOAL:
======
To allow your fog lights to work while your parking lights, low beams, and high beams are turned on.

Estimated Time: 30 minutes

-------------------------

The first step is to disconnect your battery. Don't want to fry anything.

The Next step is to move over to the Fuse/Relay box on the passenger side of the engine bay.(confirm with picture)

Now remove the Fuse/Relay box cover. You will need to remove the follow fuses show in the picture.

(Note: If you drive an automatic, then you should not have the circled fuse in the upper-left corner)

I would now recommend removing the radiator coolant resevoir. This will give you better access to your wire routing path, and also allow more give in the Fuse/Relay box wiring.

Next you will want to remove the bolts using the 10mm socket, and use the flat head screwdriver to unfasten the plastic leg from the engine bay. Now use your flat head screwdriver to unlatch the plastic tabs holding the Fuse/Relay box together.

Now that you have the box open, find the green/yellow wire on the now top left relay harness.

This is the 12V wire for your fog lights(See, the Fuse Relay says it is the 12V wire)

It is powered by your lowbeams(See why they only work when your lowbeams are on! It only gets power when your lowbeams are on!)You will want to snip this wire, leaving a good portion connected to the relay for you to use a tap-in, and tape up the lower end. Now connect your wire to the upper wire connected to the relay.

Now run your wire out of the Fuse/Relay box through one of the slots

And into the large hole near the fender

Now its time to remove your side parking light. I recommend using a towel and the flat head screwdriver to pry the lens out

Now reach back into the parking light housing area, and grab your wire. I tied my wire off to the parking light wires with plenty of slack.

Now you want to locate the red/blue wire connected to the parking light. You may have to cut some of the plastic wire loom inorder to make room.

Now take your wire, and a tap-in, and connect it to the red/blue wire

Now your fog lights receive power from your parking lights, hence, you can turn them on whenever the parking lights are in use!

Reinstall everything, making sure that your Fuse/Relays are installed correctly. Now reconnect the battery.

Here are before and after pics of the mod:

Lowbeams before and after:

Highbeams before and after:

All in all, I found that my lights were actually brighter since it did not have to pull voltage from the lowbeams.

Hey lastboyscout: Nice job with the How-To's!! Over winter, I'll try out the lock-activated beep mod plus fix my clock which is almost always off. =( The always bright mode is definitely a good feature. Thanks man! Cheers
