GOAL:
======
To make your keyless door locks sound everytime you lock them. Saves from having to stare at car when walking away to see if lights blink.
Estimated Time: 35 minutes
-------------------------
The First thing to do is to open you trunk and begin the dissassembly of the latch covers
You may have to press down inorder to get the plastic screw's threads to catch.
Now that you have the trim removed, disconnect the relay from the trunk.
now disconnect the relay from the wiring harness, and look at the wiring harness.
I uesd metal push pins to touch the metal connectors. I then temporarily attached my buzzer to the push pins. Green/Orange wire = hot
Orange wire = ground
I then hit my remote lock button. Voila! It beeps back to my neighbor's annoyance! I decided to use the 2 wires circled in red in the above picture because when I turned on my blinkers, they did not cause the buzzer to beep.
The next step is to:
A: Disconnect your Positive Terminal from you battery
or
B: Remove your BCM and LAMP fuses
I choose to just disconnect the battery. No sense risking possible frying anything else electrical.
Now, take your wires, about a good 12 - 14 inches of it, and you tap in connectors. Time to connect you wires to the Green/Orange and Orange wires.
Be sure to remember which wire connects to which. Woulnd want to wire it up backwards, would you. Again,
Green/Orange wire = hot
Orange wire = ground
Now run the new wire out thru the rubber boot and into the bumper
Make sure to tape everyint into place, and recover the outside of the rubber boot. Just saves on possible water damage.
Now remove your license plate, and run the wire out to where you can work with it.
Wire up the buzzer, and attack it to the rear frame
Now reconnect your battery and test....
If it works, replace your license plate and enjoy!
