August 2005 . . .

I brought the block and crank back from the shop today. Here's a few pics straight onto the stand.

The block has been zero decked, 030 over, and unfortunately had to be align bored due to unmatched main caps. The end cap in particular required some machine work to match it up to the block. At some point this block managed to acquire orphaned caps from somewhere else.

The crankshaft was ground and polished 10/10.

In the next week I might have a surprise for you all... nothing to be too excited about, but check back and see.

To end the week of July 31 on a high note, just received a couple of parts I ordered while waiting for the block and specs -- one for the heads and one "accessory". Here's the roller-tip rockers and a water pump electric motor:
