Late in 2004..
Finally managed to get ahold of a Series 3 Jaguar rear-end for the RWD conversion.
Over the winter I'll be pulling the old one and tearing down and rebuilding this one.
The beauty of the Jag rear-end is that it is a quick change (of sorts). The cage contains the disk brakes, shocks, axles, hubs and differential.
Note the inboard brakes . . .

Summer 2005..
Well summer is here and it's humid as hell for most of June and almost all of July. Here's where we at:
The block is in the machine shop being checked, zero-decked, align-bored and over-bored. Took it to Newport Motor Manufacturing Limited in North York. They came recommended and Andy runs the shop with his dad. He's been very helpful and has been upfront the state of the block and all recommended work.
I picked up all the bottom-end bolts, a performance gasket kit and a rod and fastener kit from the Barrie Auto Flea Market, Summit Racing and JEGS. Yes this is a bit boring.
Also at the Barrie Auto Flea Market -- a great day to spend doing nothing but looking for car parts -- I picked up a couple of valve covers. I am still trying to figure out the colours and details of them (as well as the block and heads).

I've got one side of the Jag rear-end apart. Yes, I'm all over the map, but I like to keep lively on several fronts, because frustration is a very real emotion to deal with on these projects. Lots of questions without answers, and lots of questions not discovered yet.

Hopefully will find a rebuild kit for this rear-end at a reasonable price! New shocks are about 90 $CDN apiece.
Stay tuned . . I'll be cleaning up the leftover electrical under the hood soon.
