November 2005 . . .

The block is painted and the pistons are in the block. Checked all bearing clearances, filed off the top ring gaps to KB spec (a generous .028 that averages drag and street specs) and spent what felt like forever stretching the ARP bolts using the brute force and "no stretch gauge" method. Here's a few pics:

Also received the Holley Street Avenger carb (670cfm) and Weiand Stealth intake from http://www.smmenterprises.com . Good service, very helpful and great prices! Thanks Scott!

I have been playing around with some simulation packages. The demos won't let me enter my full specs, however I can get pretty close. It helped me pick out my cam, which ended up a Comp Cams 12-209-2 kit. Here's some rough specs I obtained based on my mediocre 624 heads with some port work:

Here's the cam card for the Comp Cams Dual Energy cam:

If I'm lucky I'll see 300s across the power and torque bands.

Now let's get this block finished!
