tuff82t's 1982 Plymouth Turismo
This is one of my babies. I bought her new in June 1982, and still have a lot of fun driving her. All original, except the Centrelines and Goodyear Gators, and a little engine magic.
I hope to see more of these early Turismo`s, as these and the Charger 2.2, were Chryslers first attempts of getting back into the muscle car era.

Very nice Turismo 2.2 I had an 83 in dark charcoal metallic that was my first new car and I still wish I had it. The 82's were factory rated at 86HP with the 2.2 and the 83's went up to 96HP with a new design cylinder head. Unless you've added a 110HP nitrous shot to your Turismo, it's only about 90 max. Sorry!
Mine was a 5 speed and very quick. I beat up on 5 liter Mustangs when it was new because the 5 liter Mustangs then were all dogs with 2 barrel carbs. Mine ran a 15.7 at the track. Not bad for a relitively stock 4 banger.
Holley carb was standard in mine and was a progressive 2 barrel with O2 feedback that got fantastic gas mileage on the highway. I took off all the polution control stuff off of mine and added a 4 into 1 Hooker header which added a bunch of low end torque and sounded great. The header I still have but the car I don't
I'd love to have my old car back which is why I stumbled across yours today. Enjoy it!
Come visit my ride sometime. It's a 2.2 only...um...faster! 500 real horsepower and 514 ft/lbs of torque at the drive wheels!

Hey!! I Love your Turismo, Very HOT!!! It's nice to see someone take good care of their car, when it's a turismo, Charger 2.2 etc.....to many of them have fallin' to the junk yards!! Very sad. Check out the Charger (2.2) that I've re-done, I have pictures of what she looked like when I first bought her...scary!!! she's a sound compo car now. Take care!! -Kristin.
