1993 Lexus SC300
NA-t in progress
1995 Lexus SC300 daily driver
Last updated: Sep 20, 2006
I just wrecked my 1993 Lexus SC300 on a highway wreck on Aug 5 2006. I was rear ended and it wasnt my fault so I got money out of it and bought a 1995 dark green SC300 for my daily.
This is my new daily driver. I bought it for $3750 which is an excellent shape and its in good shape. Its an automatic but its for daily use so its actually kinda nice. It somehow gets 27mpg. 475+ miles per 18 gallons. Must be a sweet engine. Its previous owner took it to the Lexus dealership for maintenance and it even has a Lexus battery!! Been driving it for almost 2 months and no problems whatsoever.
Here is the wreck. I already bought a new trunk and bumper which is on its way. I will get the frame pulled, slap the new body parts on, and get ready for turbo! This will be my new project car / weekend driver. I plan to get a house soon to work on it and store it in a garage.
Well I bought a 1993 Lexus SC300 on October 14, 2005 and have been driving it ever since. It is a very reliable car and I am appreciating the quality and reliability of the lexus.
Oh yea, I forgot to mention its a 5-speed. Quite rare but the only way to go.
I have been missing boost so I have decided to turbo my Lexus going with the 2JZGE NA-T. The reason is because I want a reliable setup, spend little, and be able to remove the kit if I decide to sell the lexus.
So far I have the following parts:
-DaveH turbo manifold
-Hallman boost controller
-custom downpipe with o2 bung and thermal wrap
-IHI t3/t4 turbo
-HKS Blow-off valve with 2.5" BOV adapter
-Unorthodox Racing crank pulley
-new serpentine belt
-espelir lowering springs
-ACT heavy duty pressure with 6 puck clutch (lightly used)
My goal is about 275-300RWHP at 7-10psi. I plan to run the stock clutch, injectors, MAF and tune with the Apexi S-AFC2. Later I may decide for a higher HP goal but that is my goal for right now.
I will update as soon as I get more parts.
