I tried to make it all work, but eventually I just took out that whole cowl intake assembly (except for the drip rail). Now it's always open so I don't need to mash the throttle to get extra cold air. Thx for the info.

Beautiful car. Is your hood bulge still working without the stock air cleaner? If so, what did you do to make it work?

You should have put a 6.6 Litre olds 403 in it.
