Update 10/14/07 : : :
Motors in, front end is just about done. Just have some wiring to do and she'll be set.
Update 10/09/07 : : :
Almost done...
Update 7/29/07 : : :
Just a few teasers of the monster...
Update 4/03/07 : : :
Had a storm go through today that dumped quarter-sized hail all over the county. Luckily, my 9 months of prepwork remained untouched as the scooby lay nustled away in her new temporary abode, a homemade downdraft paintbooth built for under $300.
Update 2/15/07 : : :
Cleaned up the garage a bit to give me some room to put the finishing touches on the motor. Only thing left now is a little sanding on the body and the paint. She's almost there!
Here are some pics of the new wheels, heads, and the motor almost to completion. Still waiting on the TWE cams. After that, into the car she goes. Can't wait...
Update 10/06/06 : : :
Here's the new body panels in place. Time for body filler and tons of sanding.
Update 9/17/06 : : :
First off, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words in the guestbook while I've been out on a hiatus. It's been a while since my last update and it's certainly time to start documenting my recent endeavors with the Scooby.
2 months ago, I had a throwout bearing failure on the clutch that involved the separation of the engine from the tranny, standard operating procedure. I figured, well I have the engine separated for the clutch bearing replacement, might as well pull the thing and throw in that STi shortblock while I'm at it. Upon removing the engine, I decided the new gears might as well go in... along with the new turbo kit, ECU, body work, blah blah blah. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I had a full blown race car brewing in my garage.
Parts are slowly but surely coming together and when it's all said and done with, it should be sitting right around 400 ponies.
