1967 Firebird Convertible with 49,900 original miles. So far, best time is 7.42 and best speed is 96 mph in the 1/8th mile (about 11.50 at 119 in the quarter mile)

Sometimes its just too hot, that's when the top goes up and the A/C does its thing.

New tires. 235/40-17s up front and 275/50-17s in the rear. The M&H Drag Radials hook about as well as my MT ET Streets do.

sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird
The M&H Drag Radials look pretty small for a 275/50-17 tire. I think I'll try the 325/45-17s on a 9.5" rim next time.

You can just see the CalTracs under the rear and the 13" Baer brakes behind the front wheels.

1967 ragtop and 2002 Firehawk, the first and last year of the Firebird. Sold the Firehawk in 2004 but the '67 is still here.

Leather Corbeau TRS seats are ready for the roll bar (soon)

Gotta have a 5 speed Tremec TKO-600 trans.
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird17" Centerline Saber wheels and Pirelli tires

455 made 386 rwhp and 459 ft-lbs of torque with the old 2.5" exhaust, flat tappet cam and lightly ported heads. Now it makes 435 (SAE RWHP) and 495 (SAE RWTQ) with a 3" exhaust, mild hyd roller cam and a little more port work. That's approximately 510 hp and 585 tq at the crank.

sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird Ground clearance with CalTracs and Race Ready electric cutouts.

sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird 3" Dr Gas tandem x-crossover and Warlock cut-out mufflers. Scattershield is a Lakewood, Trans is a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed, Clutch is a Centerforce Dual Friction unit. Tough stuff.
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac FirebirdThe convertible crossbrace has been modified. Its a must have and helps the car stay tight.
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac FirebirdHere is the brace on the car. The square bar is 1.25" and gives just enough clearance to keep everything close without contact.
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird Here you can see that the lowest part of the car is the scattershield and the CalTracs. The exhaust tucks up pretty high.
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac FirebirdThis system sounds like a sport bike on the pipe...very smooth and a bit LOUD.
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac FirebirdSystem has good clearance and tucks up very well.

sporter28's 1967 Pontiac FirebirdLove those cutouts, six wingnuts and we're RACING! The mufflers closed put 413hp/471tq to the rear wheels and open they put 435hp/495tq at the rear wheels. Difference of 22hp and 24 ft lbs of torque. I just need some electric cutouts for the mufflers and I'll be set.

sporter28's 1967 Pontiac FirebirdMoser 9" and Denny's Nitrous Ready 3" driveshaft can be seen here
sporter28's 1967 Pontiac Firebird13" Baer Track brakes make for easy stopping.
